I saw this image while looking at booking train tickets. The Kinder enthusiast in me firmly believes they intend this to be Kinder Eggs, but didn’t use them (missing the smooth exterior and white interior) for legal purposes. But we know what they meant. Right? Right.

We were recently contacted by a man whose family in Germany attempted to mail him a box of Kinder Surprise Eggs. The eggs were confiscated and he subsequently received a lonnnnng letter from customs. Oh, the silliness. The insanity. Dare I say it? Yes, I do believe I will. The stupidity.

One of my favorites lines is, “After that time, the Government acquires full title to the seized property.” How much you want to bet those who “seize” the eggs give them with their children.

Christmas With the Egg

Living in Germany has given my children the chance to enjoy Kinder Surprise Eggs. We use them as rewards, gifts, bribes (I’ll admit it), and even Santa gets in on the fun at Christmas. This year, each of our children got a big egg in their shoe. (We do stockings and shoes to combine both our heritages.) The eggs weren’t the giant eggs that are available at Easter. At least, I didn’t find any super big ones in the stores here in Germany. So here ya go, folks. One of the eggs (modeled by our daughter, Lily) and the three toys we they got.
