The CPSC has banned another product – Buckyballs. While I agree these magnets can be very dangerous for children, the company has stated that they do not market these to children and that they have warnings on them. “Maxfield and Oberton founder and Chief Executive Craig Zucker said his company marketed the magnets to adults and teenagers.” There comes a time when the gov’t needs to realize that PARENTS are accountable for not putting harmful things in a place where children can reach them. Like a gun – you put it where a child cannot get it. These magnets – you don’t leave them lying about and you (duh) watch your kids. It’s time the gov’t demand PERSONAL accountability from adults. If your kid is standing up in a shopping cart and falls out and breaks an arm, it’s YOUR fault, not the grocery store’s. Same thing applies here.
