An App

We finally opened one box of the Kinder Eggs my former student sent. Kinder Eggs come with a QR code that opens a fun app that is not available in the US app store. Luckily, I have both a US and UK iTunes account (if you want a UK account, google for instructions – comes in handy for watching UK shows and getting fun apps!) Here are some screenshots of the Kinder Egg app. So cute! I learned about the Blue Macaw and my youngest daughter is playing games on it now. I better go and stare at her. Kinder kills, right? #FreeTheEgg

What’s in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet….except, no.

Just a quick blog post to let y’all know I’m still alive and still a Southerner.  🙂  I came across two eggs last week. One that is the typical deceiving egg, it looks like the toy will be in the egg but, alas, when you open the box, the toy is in its own compartment.

The other I think is actually kind of cool. Check it out:

Is that cute, or what?  I didn’t buy it.  Not because I didn’t want to, but because we had already been to the checkout THREE TIMES buying books.  I’ll get one next time we’re at Books-A-Million.  We are there a lot.  A LOT.

The fight continues.  We’ve had more lies about The Egg being freed in the form of Kinder Joy.  They’ve tried to claim that Kinder Joy is a new creation from Ferroro to legally bring The Egg into the United States…like it’s a modification.  The fact is that Kinder Joy has been out since 2001 in Europe.  I’m not knocking The Joy.  I love it.  But, when they first came out, I bought them for my kids thinking they had just changed the packaging on the Surprise Egg.  My kids were not amused and didn’t like the taste of  The Joy.  (Crazy children with broken taste buds.)  I am looking forward to having them sold in my area, but doubt my kids will like them as much as I do.

Have you tried the Hippo?  No?  They are awesome!  They’re made by Ferrerro, so it’s like buying The Eggs younger cousin.  Here’s a picture.  Look for them in places like World Market or, if you have access to it, military commissaries.  They also sell them online.
